KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 28 (Bernama) -- Some 100,000 visitors are expected to attend the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) Fair in March 2012 at the Putra World Trade Centre, here.

Matta president Datuk Mohd Khalid Harun said the three-day fair beginning from March 16 will definitely become a must-visit event for both the young and adult to grab their best travel deals offered by the participating exhibitors.

"We will set up 984 booths for this year's fair, which is an increase of 34 booths from last year with a total space of 23,200 sq metres.

"This is one of the biggest travel fairs which Matta will hold and it will involve participation from local travel agencies, as well as those from national tourism organisations," he told reporters at the official launch reception of Matta Fair March 2012, here.

Mohd Khalid said Matta would also organise such fairs in Selangor, Johor, Kelantan, Perak, Sabah, Sarawak, Penang, Johor and Negeri Sembilan next year.

Meanwhile, organising committee chairman John Tan said bookings for exhibition booths would be open to both local and national travel agencies on Jan 9 next year.

"We will offer a discount of RM200 for early birds registration while the exhibitors who participated for three years and above at this event are entitled to a discount of RM500," he said.
