Malaysian Companies To Showcase Local Green Technology At Singapore Expo
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20 (Bernama) -- Solar hot water system, kenetic water filtration systems, recycle teak and waterless urinal are among Malaysian green inventions and innovations that will be introduced in Singapore next month.
Eight Malaysian companies will be among 200 exhibiting companies from more than 20 countries to showcase their latest environmentally-friendly building technologies, products, concepts and solutions at BEX Asia 2010.
"It's a way to create product awareness and brand promotion.
"It helps our Singapore agent in their marketing activities there," said a spokesman from Solartech Sales & Services Sdn Bhd about the company's participation in the four-day expo from Sept 13 at the new Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Marina Bay.
Solartech is a reputed manufacturer of Summer solar hot water system in Malaysia.
The company also manufacturers Meru electric storage water heater and Calorifier, the Kenetico water filtration system which uses little electricity and has a life span of 10 years.
The expo will also be featuring first time exhibitor APP Timber that will be introducing its 100 per cent recycle teak tiles and flooring.
The company's Domestic Sales Manager Tee Siok Ching said its TimberTeak and TimberDuraPine, or treated timber, are products with GreenLabel, which is an endorsement from the Singapore Environment Council under its Green Labeling Scheme.
"We are a team with timber. With our knowledge and experience in the industry, we hope to be able to give customers the suitable advice on using timber in building," she said.
Well-known ceramic manufacturer Clay Industries Sdn Bhd will also be introducing its latest green innovation in ceramic sanitaryware.
"We will be showcasing green products that feature waterless urinal, water efficient and water saving sanitaryware," said Manager Ng Beng Hiang.
The company, to be represented by Claytan Ceramics Pte Ltd, hopes that by participating in the expo, its products will receive the green endorsement from the Singapore authority.
"The expo will give us an avenue to explain and demostrate our green products to the approving authorities and building professionals," she said.
