MDeC eyes new high value investments worth over RM1b
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 9 (Bernama) -- The Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) hopes to attract new high value investments worth more than RM1 billion to the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC Malaysia) this year.
Chief executive officer Datuk Badlisham Ghazali said MDeC wanted to attract more high quality investments that can offer high salary in this field.
"We don't want companies that only give a salary of around RM1,000," he told reporters after witnessing the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Mobile Monday Malaysia and GTower Sdn Bhd here.
Last year, over RM2.5 billion was invested by MSC Malaysia status companies.
Badlisham said global giant companies were looking to invest in MSC Malaysia.
He said multinational companies showed high interest in Malaysia as Malaysia was committed in developing the ecosystem for the IT intensive industry.
Badlisham said with more multinational companies investing here, there would be a net increase in jobs available in the IT industry.
Under the MoU, GTower will play a vital role as the official venue for Mobile Monday Malaysia's monthly events.
