Kaspersky expects enterprise segment revenue to overtake consumer segment
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 9 (Bernama) -- Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions, expects revenue from enterprise segment to overtake consumer segment in the next three years.
Asia Pacific Region corporate sales director Gun Suk Ling said enterprise segment must overtake the consumer segment for the company to position itself as among the world's top three secure content and threat management solutions provider.
"The enterprise market is much bigger than consumer and piracy is lower, thus revenue will be higher than the consumer segment," she told Bernama.
Gun said the company, which launched the Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows and Kaspersky Security Centre on Oct 20, aimed to attract large enterprises with more than 1,000 users for its new product.
The new product would enable the company to provide services to larger companies that requires more features besides anti-malware and strengthen its market share in the country's enterprise segment.
Currently, Kaspersky's market share in the enterprise segment was below 10% as compared to consumer segment at 65%.
Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows and Kaspersky Security Centre were engineered to deliver a new level of deep enterprise-wide threat protection and comprehensive control while being centrally deployed, administered and monitored by a unified protection management system.
The product also offers improved features such as a new anti-virus engine, integration with the cloud and endpoint control, she said.
On financial performance, Gun said the company's revenue growth this year is expected to be about 50% to 80% compared to 300% last year.
She said the lower growth was due to the challenges faced by the company including increasing competition and lower pricing from competitors.
"Our volume will still be increasing but our revenue will not be growing as much as last year," she added.
