Ismail Sabri leads trade delegation to Mibex 2011
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 17 (Bernama) -- The Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, is leading a delegation of local entrepreneurs to the Malaysia-Indonesia Business Expo (Mibex 2011), in Jakarta from today to Nov 19.
The entrepreneurs are those from local franchises, direct selling companies, cooperatives and small medium enterprises (SMEs).
Ismail Sabri said in a statement today that the Mibex 2011 will be a platform for businessmen in Malaysia and Indonesia to forge cooperation.
He also said the expo will help strengthen trade relations towards achieving the objective of the Asean Economic Community, (AEC) by 2015.
The Mibex 2011 is organised by the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism with the cooperation of Indonesia's Trade Ministry, Industry Ministry, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Industry Ministry as well as the Asosiasi Francais Indonesia, (AFI).
This is the first time the expo is being organised and it involves 43 Malaysian exhibitors.
The Malaysian Cooperatives Commission (SKM) and the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) as well as the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MYIPO) are also participating in the event.
The expo is also aimed at assisting local companies penetrate the Indonesian and South East Asian markets alongside enhancing trade relations.
