HSBC Amanah launches 10th Klang Valley branch

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 13 (Bernama) -- HSBC Amanah Malaysia Bhd today launched its tenth branch in the Klang Valley at 3rd Mile Square on Old Klang Road here, expanding its total branch network to 55 locations nationwide.

In conjunction with the launch, the branch has a special offer for both retail and corporate customers until Feb 29, 2012, including eligibility for new applicants of its credit card-i for cash back up to RM75, and a special profit rate of five per cent per annum for Term Deposit-i (Standard Scheme).

"With strong support from Bank Negara, the country's Islamic banking sector has grown assets under management over the past decade, and we believe Islamic banks may control a significant share of Malaysia's banking assets by the next decade.

"Malaysia's strong financial platform makes it logical for HSBC Amanah to continue investing in this emerging market," HSBC Bank Malaysia Bhd chief executive officer and HSBC Amanah Global CEO, Mukhtar Hussain, said in a statement today.

He also said that HSBC Amanah is committed to boosting the growth of the Malaysian economy by actively participating in the funding activities of the various projects under the Economic Transformation Programme and Tenth Malaysia Plan.

HSBC Amanah's other Klang Valley branches are in Bangsar Baru; Taman Connaught, Cheras; Cheras South; One Utama; Ampang Point; Wangsa Maju; Plaza Masalam, Shah Alam; Sungai Buloh; and Bukit Tinggi, Klang.

Besides its other branches -- in Juru Auto City (Penang), Nusa Bestari (Johor) and Gunung Rapat (Ipoh) -- HSBC Amanah has 14 off-site ATMs.
