Entrepreneurs From Opposition-led States Not Discriminated

ALOR  SETAR,June 12 (Bernama) -- The International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) doesnot discriminate against entrepreneurs from the opposition-led states.

Its deputy minister, Datuk Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir saidthe ministry did not deny them any assistance or facilities or leave them outin the promotional drive of national products overseas.

"When we promote our country to foreign investors,we do not tell them to go only to certain states.

"It is up to them to choose the states where theywant to invest. If they chose the opposition-led states, Miti will continue toprovide advice to them.

"We also do not practice favouritism onentrepreneurs from certain states," he told reporters after launching theNorth Zone Groom Big Mini Showcase here Saturday. 

On the 10th Malaysia Plan, he said Miti would continue toprovide capital and entrepreneurial training to entrepreneurs.

"From our experience, we find that companies gettingeasy-term loans from the government have higher probability of success thancompanies receiving grants," he said.-- BERNAMA
