Census On Small And Medium Industries This Year
PUTRAJAYA, April 21 (Bernama) -- An economic census on small and medium-sized industries is to be carried out this year.
This follows the preliminary report on the 2010 population and housing census issued last December by the statistics department.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop said today that the census was to gather statistics related to the economic performance of the country.
The statistics department would also issue a report on basic demographic characteristics this July, he said at the presentation of excellent service awards at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre.
Nor Mohamed said the statistics were essential to measure the success of government policies.
A total of 237 staff of the department received the awards while 27 others were given salary increment certificates.
