Bridal Boutique Berdua Magika Goes For 1Malaysia Concept

KUALA KRAI, March 21 (Bernama) -- Despite the steep competition in the wedding services market, Berdua Magika has taken the challenge to venture into the market with a vision of its own based on the 1Malaysia concept.

Mohd Farizan Kamarudin, who is the owner and marketing manager for Berdua Magika bridal boutique, said that although his outlet has been in operation only a year, it has an edge of its own, making it different from the numerous wedding planners around the country.

"We realise that the competition in the market of providing marriage services to couples getting married is high... but with its highly suitable 1Malaysia concept, it is easy to find the target market with our country's multiracial society," he told Bernama during an interview here today.

Farizan, 34, said his boutique was started with a capital of RM15,000, together with his business partner Steve Phang, 37.

Phang is also the consultant for the Chinese couples wishing to use the wedding planning services of Berdua Magika to realise their dream marriage.

"To make a success of our 1Malaysia concept, we do not move on our own. We have many partners from various races offering the best services for clients.

"We have also done some research and found that many customers are comfortable dealing with someone of their own race, and hence at Berdua Magika we have opened the concept to clients where for example, for our Malay customers my wife, Asyilawati, 34, will be the consultant, and for our Chinese customers, Phang will provide the services and for our Indian customers, we have our partner, Parameswary Doriasamy, 45," Farizan said.

Farizan, who also holds a job as an accountant currently provides the wedding planning services through his home in Ampang, Kuala Lumpur and his blog at http://berduabridal.blogspot.com.

He also said that while Berdua Magika provided services for all races, it kept prices at reasonable levels knowing the financial restraints young couples could have.

"The marriage services provided by us starts from as low as RM1,500. Our services include wedding suits, wedding dais and make-up," he said.

Farizan said his boutique was currently offering interesting packages as part of its wedding plans promotion for this year including selection of the latest wedding gown designs.

He said the boutique currently receives orders from clients right from Kuala Lumpur to Kelantan and Pahang.
