Asian Bloggers & Social Media Conference 2010

Kuala Lumpur, 24 June 2010 - The city of Kuala Lumpur will be hosting the Asian Bloggers and Social Media Conference 2010, which will be held on 28-29 July 2010 at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel, with an expected crowd of 400 people from across Asia.  

The event is organized by My Events International, co-organized by Ministry of Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing, supported by the Ministry of Higher Education and Cyber Security Malaysia.  

With the advent advancement of social media in the world today, individuals and businesses are looking for creative ways and fully take advantage of it. There are now well over thousands publicly traded companies and smaller firms around the world that maintain an active Blog, Twitter feed, Facebook fan page, and YouTube channel.

For businesses, the social media offers huge potential benefits from reduced costs and enhanced networking channels. Corporate entities had begun to utilize social media for the purpose of aggressive marketing, brand building and knowledge sharing.  For the layman, it is all about engaging people into their network.

In conjunction, the organizer will present a 2 days event which will bring together top bloggers and social media experts across Asia to discuss various topics on how social media can increase an organization's bottom-line. Just to name a few of those prominent bloggers and social media experts are Dato' Sri Tony Fernandes, CEO, Air Asia Malaysia; Paul Moss, General Manager of Alt Media who is better known as one of the judge of 8TV's One in a Million show; Thomas Crampton, Asia Pacific Director, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, Hong Kong; Oliver "Blogie" Robillo of Mindanao Bloggers Community; and many more.

The keynote address will be presented by Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun Dr . Mahathir Mohamad. As one of the global elder statesman, he is also a prominent blogger of our time whose blog had significantly reached over a million visitors just within short period of its launching. His note will be on Building a Community around Your Cause by Attracting and Engaging People to kick off the 2 days event, certainly will give the audiences thought provoking and ready to be implemented ideas to take away on how to build your presence in the virtual world and increase the bottom line of an organization.

The targeted audiences are from the bloggers community, young and upcoming and professionals and most importantly grass root individuals to name a few. This event will definitely be an eye opener for social media practitioners to gain knowledge and exchange ideas, as well as foster business relationships.  On a larger scope, it will put Malaysia on the map of being recognized as a place where unity in diversity is being practiced through healthy blogging and which could compute and generate mass interest in this 21st century era of social media networking.
