207 entrepreneurs at Malaysian Craft Promotion in Johor Baharu

JOHOR BAHARU, Dec 13 (Bernama) -- A total of 207 craft entrepreneurs including those from Sabah and Sarawak will take part in the 2011 Malaysian Craft Promotion at Plaza Angsana from Thursday until Dec 25.

Director of Kraftangan Malaysia, Johor branch, Nor Azmi Ismail said this would be the largest event held in the southern part of the country which would also be participated by 32 craft entrepreneurs from Johor.

Information, Communications and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim is scheduled to declare open event on Friday at 4pm.

"The event aims to expand the market and promotion of various handicraft products and we hope that locals and foreigners especially from Singapore can take the opportunity to get the products at very competitive prices," he told Bernama Tuesday.

The event targets about 50,000 visitors.

Nor Azmi said various interesting events would be held including craft-making demonstrations and traditional games.
